We are an established, quality Montessori and daycare located in central Nanaimo.

For over 12 years, we have been providing affordable, quality childcare in a caring and respectful environment designed to enhance children's curiosity and develop cognitive skills.

We take pride in our ability to provide a welcoming, educational experience in which each child feels included, and has the opportunity to learn and progress at their own individual pace.

The home-like atmosphere of our centre contributes to an inviting and relaxing space for our children. Indoor classroom activities are available throughout the space, encouraging children to play, experiment and interact. Our outdoor environment offers a playground with ample areas for safe, free play.

Shazia ansari

I am Owner/Director of Green Trails Montessori Daycare.

I am married and have 3 daughters. I have over 15 years of experience working with children. I completed my Bachelors degree in Psychology and did my Montessori and ECE training from Vancouver.

I have also done many professional development courses to keep me in touch with current issues related to our field. I enjoy teaching and enjoy seeing children excited to learn. I wish to leave a positive lasting impact on my students.

karen rouanzoin

I started my ECE journey in 2016 at Vancouver Island University, and I am an ECE graduate from Sprott Shaw College. I went into the field of childcare because I love and value children’s unique growth and personalities. My favorite part about being an ECE is the ability to be an integral part of a child’s development.

There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow and progress. I consider the opportunity to influence children an honor and a privilege.

I did my bachelors of Arts degree in graphic designing and marketing. I have also completed my ECEA training from the AMI Institute in Vancouver. I enjoy working with children and have developed a special bond with them.

I like to bake and paint in my spare time and love to share my baking and cooking passion with my students.
