Everyday F.A.Q.
Children should arrive by 9:00 AM to support a smooth start to the day and minimize classroom disruptions.
Both centres are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Children must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning to the centre. Fever, vomiting, diarrhea, contagious infections, or signs of illness require children to stay home until fully recovered.
No. Green Trails Montessori is a screen-free environment. Learning is supported through hands-on activities, social interaction, and imaginative play.
Families should pack a healthy lunch and snacks, a water bottle, indoor shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing. A spare set of clothes should always remain at the centre.
Yes. Please ensure all food items are nut-free and follow our nutrition guidelines.
Yes. Weather permitting, children enjoy outdoor play and nature exploration every day. Please dress your child for the weather.
A 15-minute grace period is allowed after 5:00 PM. After that, a late fee applies. Repeated late pickups may result in a review of enrollment status.
Families receive communication through our designated parent communication channel (email or messaging group), including reminders, notices, and classroom updates.
Families will be contacted immediately for pickup. While waiting, your child will rest comfortably under supervision.
Children are only released to individuals listed on their authorized pickup form. Photo ID is required for anyone unfamiliar to staff.
Child Essentials
Below is a simple guide to the items your child will need at Green Trails Montessori. Some stay at the centre, while others go back and forth each day.
Items to Bring Daily
- Healthy, nut-free lunch and snacks
- Water bottle
- Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing (Muddy Buddy, jacket, hat, gloves as needed)
Items to Keep at the Centre
- Indoor shoes (comfortable and non-slip)
- Spare set of clothes (shirt, pants, socks, underwear)
- Bedding for rest time (fitted sheet, small blanket, comfort item if needed)
Medications
If your child requires medication during the day, including over-the-counter items, it must be provided with a completed Medication Permission Form and must have a prescription label. Staff cannot administer any medication without written authorization and proper documentation

Tip: Please label all personal items with your child’s name to help keep belongings organized and safe.
Arrival & Departure Guidelines
A smooth arrival and departure routine helps create a calm, predictable day for your child and supports the flow of the classroom community.
Arrival Guidelines
- Please arrive by 9:00 AM to support your child’s transition and minimize classroom disruptions.
- Ensure your child is signed in and greeted by a staff member before you leave.
- If your child will be late or absent, please notify the centre as early as possible.
- Children must arrive healthy and ready for the day; if they show signs of illness, they will need to stay home.
Departure Guidelines
- Pickup is no later than 5:00 PM.
- Please make sure your child is signed out before leaving the centre.
- We may request a photo ID from anyone unfamiliar to staff during pickup.
- Only individuals listed on your child’s Authorized Pickup Form may take them home.
- A 15-minute grace period is allowed after closing; late fees apply afterward.
Early Pickup on Staff Meeting Days
Occasionally, the centre closes early for staff training and professional development. Families will be notified in advance of these days and the adjusted pickup time.
